HISTORY Our premises on Gloucester Road started off in 1976 as tearooms, soon to be replaced by the novelty shop - "Shackles". After closure of Shackles it was opened up as numerous restaurants, ending up as the infamous Durrants "DOLLAR DINER". A chance conversation between Alex Tryfonos and Sean Taylor lead to the opening of HALO in the summer of 2003. Sean started his working life in Retail Management. He has been involved in the set up and opening of several well-known restaurants around the country, and is a qualified instructor in Food Hygiene and Safety. Alex has been around the restaurant trade for most of his life. He started his career working at the CAFE ROYAL in Regents Street London and has worked as Bar Manager for ALEXANDRA PALACE before moving back to his hometown of Bristol. Alex s' other passion is cricket. He is a well known local amateur player and plays as often as possible during the season. |
